June 12-14, Blanes. Catifes de Flors de Corpus ("Corpus Christi Flower Carpets")

In Blanes, Corpus Christi is marked by the popular tradition of decorating the district of Raval with enormous and intricate flower carpets. For over 25 years, central streets in Raval have been coming alive with beautiful floral tapestry from the most talented local florists, artists and local residents.

Flower carpet-making techniques, materials, and styles have evolved and become more complex over the years, but the main theme remains the same — Blanes, its local culture and heritage. Visiting Blanes after Corpus Christi, you will see the whole town blocks coming together to create the intricate designs under the guidance of local artists, most of whom collaborate with Catifes de Flors de Corpus regularly. Passersby are welcome to help as well!

The flower carpet festival occurs on the weekend that immediately follows the Feast of Corpus Christi. It is free and open to all.
