Traditional Sowing of Rice in Pals

Traditional Sowing of Rice in Pals
June 14, Pals

Rice has been planted in Pals for generations. Every June, visitors and tourists are invited to attend the traditional ceremony of rice sowing led by the veteran local farmers.

The ceremony demonstrates the manual sowing technique that used to be commonplace among rice farmers prior to industrialization and automation of labour. During the event, farmers plant rice by hand, ankle-deep in standing water that is necessary for rice cultivation.

The ceremony of traditional rice sowing in Pals is a family-friendly event accompanied by a series of activities, as well as a hearty country-style breakfast. For more information, visit the official website of Pals.
