Bread Fair

Bread Fair
May 8 - May 9, Castelló d'Empúries

The annual Bread Fair in Castelló d’Empúries is organized jointly by the municipal government and the historic flour factory and museum Ecomuseu-Farinera that opens its doors to multiple fun activities related to bread- and flour-making. Guided tours, workshops on cake decoration and baking for kids, gastronomic tours and tastings for adults with the best products of the Costa Brava region are just a few activities taking place on the factory grounds and nearby.

The Bread Fair spreads to the streets of Castelló d’Empúries where visitors may shop an artisanal market full of baked delights, participate in the wildly popular Flour Fight (La Gran Batalla de Farina) and eat a communal meal with the locals, proceeds from which are donated to charity.

The fair takes place over a weekend in May. Some activities are free, while some require pre-registration and a small fee to participate.
